Help for community groups from Area Committee

Community groups in Cambuslang and Rutherglen have been given a boost with grants from the council's local Area Committee.
Ten grants were awarded as community grants, one was a Warm Welcome grant and the other was a playscheme grant.
A total of £8,902 was awarded by the committee.
The following groups were awarded Community Grants:
- Cambuslang Community Council – £576 for materials
- Kirkhill Bowling Club, Cambuslang – £300 for materials and equipment
- Rutherglen Heritage Society – £1,200 for equipment
- Trinity High School Parent Council, Rutherglen – £600 for equipment
- Eastfield Physically Disabled Club, Cambuslang – £750 for specialist transport and entrance fees
- Cambuslang Summer Festival – £2,400 for a special event
- Flemington/Hallside Guild, Cambuslang – £540 for an outing, equipment and administration costs
- Rutherglen Bowling Club – £300 for equipment
- Cambuslang Parish Church Pastoral Care Team – £300 for an outing
- 2nd Rutherglen Brownies – £276 for entrance fees, equipment, arts and crafts materials
The group receiving the Warm Welcome grant was Particip8 Overton who received £1,000.
The group receiving the playscheme grant was Fernhill Kids Playscheme who were awarded £660.
